Why Stamme.

Stamme is Norwegian. It means the trunk of a tree — and, by extension, a family line. The thing that holds the rest up. The part you build from.

Most software today is built like a service: continually patched, billed monthly, tied to a server somewhere, never really yours. Stamme rejects that shape. Every product we ship is a finished artifact you own. You pay once. You download it. It runs on your machine. It keeps working.

We don't ship versions. We ship completions. When a product is finished, it goes out — and stays exactly the way it shipped. The tool you bought today is the tool you'll have five years from now. If something major breaks, we fix it. Otherwise, no surprises. That isn't laziness; it's a discipline. It forces the work to be solid before it leaves our hands.

We don't take subscriptions, recurring fees, or telemetry. We don't build community around our products or maintain a presence on social media. What we ship has to stand on its own. If it doesn't, nothing else we do will save it.
